Food Safety: A Chain Is Only as Strong as Its Weakest Link.

High machine hygiene is essential to guarantee food safety. All machine parts that come in contact with food, can be cleaned easily and accurately. FAM machines can conveniently be integrated in a production environment, designed according to an HACCP concept.

Production zone and drive zone are completely separated, as such eliminating the risk of water penetration in the drive and the electrical components. Moreover, any contamination of your product with lubricant and cleaning agents is non-existent.

Pioneer in Machine Hygiene

FAM is an absolute pioneer and innovative force in the area of machine hygiene and machine cleanability.

Proof of this is the FAM Hymaks. This innovative dicer obtained the USDA-AMS Dairy Equipment Acceptance Certificate. It is the result of a long and intensive development programme involving our industrial partners. It meets the most rigid hygienic demands in the cheese processing industry, setting the new standard in this market segment.

User Safety Is a Must

Naturally, all our machines are manufactured according to various standards and directives:

  • the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC),
  • the Low Voltage Directive (2006/95/EC) and
  • the EMC Directive (2004/108/EC).

In order to obtain the highest possible safety and hygiene level, our designs take into account the most important European directives, such as EN 13870: 2005, EN 13871: 2005, EN ISO 14159: 2002 and EN 1672-2: 2005.

Specific Safety Characteristics

Some of the built-in safety features for the operators are:

  • All machines have safety switches to prevent the machine from functioning with one of its covers or doors opened.
  • The trapped safety key system on the FAM Mantis and the FAM Lifis.
  • The development of auxiliary equipment for safe handling of the cutting tools.
